Reflections on Halloween

Lil one and I really had fun this Halloween. He loved decorating with me outside. We did a full graveyard in the side yard. And he just doesn't get scared by it, he takes it all in fun like I do. So its great. We make fun, and he loved pumpkin head and how I had him peeking out from behind a tree in the woods. I'm just so glad we had a good holiday. :)

I liked it allot. We ended up having quite a bit of loot too. Tee hee. And mumma got to have all the kitkats!

Lil one's pumpkin.

Mr. Love's Pumpkin.

And the Mumma pumpkin.

Can you guess where I got the images? lol.
Happy Wednesday everyone!

Meow

I did a project a few days ago with the meow lite cricut cartridge. Purrrrr... I know when I got my 5th anniversary cricut I noticed that all I really did with my cricut is make scrapbook pages and didn't really make anything else. So with my new one I have vowed to do more. :) I knew the first thing I would be making with this one is something for my mother. A nice card to her to make her smile and maybe get a smile out of her.

Using these colors. The white is regular white cardstock, the brown and yellowish orange is a page out of dcwv sweet stack, and the pink is a single sheet that I picked up at a JoAnns one trip months ago.

Then cutting what I needed for the cat and the spoiled for the inside.

And the finished project. :) I used a page out of the mini all dressed up matstack for the background on the front. I didn't realize after I had written inside of it that I had forgot to put on the little white slits for the eyes so I used my pen touch in white to make his little slits for his eyes. It was the perfect card to send my mother because the cat and its little brown mouse looked like my mothers favorite, spoiled cat.

I think I will be doing more with this cartridge as I do love animals myself, and hopefully we will be getting a kitty soon ourselves. :) Here is hoping to a wonderful weekend.

Cuddly weekend

Hope every one is having a good weekend so far, my son and I have been cuddling up allot on the couch and chaise because I have been under the weather. But we have managed to get a few things done. I really do love that every morning after we have our juice we go outside and water the plants and we don't have to soak them since it has stopped being over ninety degrees every day.

Friday we took two mason jars that were laying around up in a cubbard in the kitchen and spray painted the inside of them (well, more I did since I had him stand up on the porch away from the fumes). I am going to use one for my crafting tools that I use the most and end up lying on my desk anyway and the other for maybe some flowers. I got the idea here and here.

I am working more on my sons blanket I am crocheting him but it is the largest crocheting project I have made thus far and its getting a little tedious so this morning I have started to make a pair of crochet ballet slippers so that when I pick up my crochet basket I don't feel so much like whining because I'm only working on the same ol' project. I do hope that I'm not the only one to feel that way!

Also yesterday we got a nice surprise in the mail. My cousin in Texas had sent my son and I a package in the mail! My son got a teddy bear all suited up in an army outfit, and I got four sheets of stickers, pictures, a coffee cup and some hot sauce. She knows me so well!! :) The only thing with my hot sauce collection is that we use them all. Tee hee. Both Love and I use lots of hot sauce and love it.

I have started to make my first mini album and am very excited about it thou the glitter I applied to part of it yesterday did not make me super happy. :( Turned out looking more green than the white that it was in the bottle. I'll take a better picture of it when I become more sure and proud of it again.

Also on Monday I will be getting this in the mail because the last time Love sat in the car and I ran into JoAnns I picked up a Crop-A-Dile and am super happy about it but have realized its a little too clunky to have laying around on my desk and want a place for it. So into the case it will go. I love that it has the two punches and the eyelet setter all in it. Now I can get rid of the cheap hole punches I have sitting around and the little plastic piece broke off of (seriously that is beyond annoying).

But today I am just now drinking my coffee having spend the whole morning and noon with my son and am going to start to make a Halloween card make and take for when my cousin from northern Pa here comes down. When I got my Cricut Expression 2 in the mail and we got moved into our new house I gave my pink Cricut Expression to her and I'm so happy that she has one now too! Just like she gives me incredible ideas for crocheting, now we can trade ideas for paper crafting stuff too! So excited.
Hope everyone is having an incredible weekend!

Cricut n Vinyl

I did a project on Sunday that I am just getting to posting today. A little vinyl project to add a little character to the living room. I love using vinyl with the cricut. Especially around holidays or events. Its really fun to me and I love how it brings a little life to anything. There was originally two birds on this but I only wanted the single one.

I don't use cricut vinyl btw... I know I'm a bad girl... but I like to find things in a bigger supply when I know I use lots and lots of it. I get mine from - Vinyl Ease on Amazon And really if I am looking for something, that is the first place I go. I love Amazon.com. But the transfer tape is cricut - I didn't want a large amount. I also don't use the Popsicle stick (man I really don't like following rules do I) I use a credit card or something to that effect. I worked once for a man who had his business in vinyl and found out the correct ways to go about applying it (even got the windshield of my car at the time to say 'supergirl' lol) and so I didn't watch any videos.

My house is still a little bare and I'm still adding things, but I have started collecting small things here and there with black silhouetted birds. I used the Sophisticated Cricut Cartridge, on page 60 the border at the top with the birds. All in all it took about 15 minutes to do and I really love the result. There isn't a whole lot of things I could do on that wall space being that there is a huge set of doors. But this makes a difference.
Hope everyone is having a lovely Wednesday.

Two beach-y pages

I was able to get some personal scrapbooking done this week and really enjoyed it. I have started to realize I like to go maybe too simple, but I'm getting there I think. I really enjoy one of the pages and the other is ehhh... ok. But I couldn't find the right inspiration layout and I'm a whole year behind on scrapbooking. Eeeeks!

Wausau Creative Collection Textures in white - The blue and orange are pages out of a 12x12 pack I have had for a while now Complete Boy, my minds eye - Circles are out of K&Co Amy Butler designer paper - Stickers are Making Memories, Great Escape - Lettering and circles are from Cricut's American Alphabet

Patterned paper is out of K&Co Classic K Designer Paper- Yellow flowers and yellow and white sail boat are from scraps laying around in my box - the blue is Evening Surf from Brazzill Basics- Beach stickers from eksuccess - Surfboard sticker from Making Memories, Great Escape - Flowers are from Cricut's Cricut Essentials - sail boat is from Cricut's Just a Note

Those cartridges are exclusive to the E2 cricut. :) Thanks for reading!

Mad as a Hatter - all the best are

Making some Steampunk(ish) and hatter things. I like the darker side to Alice in Wonderland. I almost finished the fronts of the cards earlier but not sure what I am going to do with them next. I have been in a rut lately. And haven't really been feeling all to well so I am really trying but I just managed to finish these cards the middle of this week and here is how they ended up turning out -

All of them are a little different from the other but I really do like how they ended up looking. I do wish I would have had a light brown to antique the edges of the main card with that as well, or I could have started out with a light brownish main card, but I'm not all for color for the main card itself. But that is just me - I have seen others do a fantastic card with colored card stock as their main. I can't wait to put them up for sale. Selling I think has been pushed back a little bit but it is coming along and making things to put up for sale in the mean time is ok I think. :)

Also I have started crocheting a blanket for my son with crocheted bobbles every third row of double crochets. I let him pick out what kind of yarn he wanted me to use and picked a very very soft one that is mainly a egg color I think with brown and blue scattered about it. He has one blanket that is crocheted at my mothers house and my cousin (that I am going into business with) made it for me when I was a very small girl. And he has enjoyed it on nights when he was there last month and covered up with it on the warmer nights as it was a little airy. I will post progress on that next.

I do hope that every one is having a lovely week and is staying away from being ill like myself. :( But the really good news is that I saw Harry Potter last weekend and tomorrow we are going to see Captain America tomorrow morning. And I'm sure that will be a blast!

Unpacking goodies

Thought I'd share this little picture with you today. I made it last night when I wasn't quite tired enough to sleep last night and I had unpacked all my scrapbooking goodies. Two things I was really super glad to find. 1. my vinyl. 2. my cutter for card stock that scores. Overjoyed with both discoveries I had to cut some white card stock out for cards and decided to use some black vinyl and one of my cartridges on my expression 2 to make something for my vanity mirror.
After doing all that I decided to use some of my MS glitter and embellish some cards that I had already made and by that time I was getting silly so I decided to go over and lay down in bed. But I wanted to share with you what made my Sunday night a joy. Hope your having a wonderful day!

Yarn and Cupcakes

I would say that my collection is big... and then I see others collections expanding across rooms and then giggle. But somehow the yarn laying places all twisted up and sitting in piles next to things looks almost romantic to me at times. I'm silly I know. But I look at it all and think of the textures and the lovely things that will be made out of it. But this is mine, in a basket that I did not buy intending to hold them all. Right now I am making a queen ann lace scarf that has the dark grey yarn and the pink crochet thread together. It looks adorable. But for winter, it would be beautiful against a dark grey or black wool jacket. I'm making it long too, I hate when I see beautiful scarfs that you want to also keep you somewhat warm too. So it should be able to circle around at least twice... I hope. Lol.

This is the darling little bunny I have cricut out and am putting on the back of the cards that I make. I adore her, bubbly and cute.

And this is one of the cupcake just a note cards that I made. I made 6 of them in two different prints with a larger flat cupcake in the inside cut from the American Alphabet already pre - installed on the anniversary cricut. And I just found out that also on that pre - installed cartridge there is some much needed phrases I am going to use lots. Next I am going to make an owl thinking of you card for a friend to go with a crocheted owl that I made her. I hope that she likes it.

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend!

5th Anniversary Cricut !

The love of my life got me the 5th Anniversary Cricut. <3 (Thank you Love) And I absolutely adore it. It was a little hard to get used to and even thou I got it last month I just learned how to make a cut inside of another with a center point. It was easier before when I could move the cutter around where I wanted it, but now that I know how to do it it might get better.
I got half a dozen owl thank you cards done and I'm working on another half a dozen ur sweet cupcake cards. That are super cute and sweet in their own way. I'm doing them full card size too. Nothing too small and they look just perfect. - My only complaint is this - the cutting mat that came with the 5th Ann. doesn't seem to be as sticky. So when I applied my paper it was sticky but now a month later it seems to not be sticking very well... last night I had to hold down the paper on the mat and was not to terribly happy about that. I need to look for my others that I have somewhere.
Hmmmm... what else have I been doing? Oh well, after I looked around on etsy and knew I had a new cricut I decided to make a cover for it. Ya know, like a toaster cover but for the cricut. Tee hee. I know. Now it looks like a huge twinkie.

The second is a little fuzzy because my cannon was acting up last night and I don't know specifically why. But at least I have one picture right now. I call it my over sized twinkie. But its super cute and I love it so.
Hope your having a good afternoon, I'm here with a blanket draped over me because its chilly and I'm not feeling super.
